Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport


Amarillo, Texas

Our branch in Amarillo, Texas is supplying materials for the renovation of the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.  The renovations include updating the existing terminal, concourse demolition, renovation of ticketing area and the creation of a corridor from baggage claim to the new “meet and greet” area.

The branch secured the typical products on an airport project including rebar, dowel baskets, dowels, cure, trench drain, expansion joint and mesh.  However, it went beyond the regular bid package and sold Soff-Cut saws, paving equipment, paving forms, and safety materials for the entire job.

Western Builders is the contractor on the job that began in April 2009 and is scheduled for completion in 2011.

Stephenson Executive Center


Columbia, South Carolina

The Stephenson Executive Center is a three floor “Class A” office building with zoning that provides a variety of uses. Kyle Weeks and Donald Jackson- Branch 80 in Columbia, South Carolina worked with the Carson Company of Savannah, Georgia to construct the 38,000 square foot building with between 30 and 40 tilt-up panels.

Several Shepler’s Performance Products were submitted and used throughout the projectincluding the Power Shep Lift insert and Shep 2000F bondbreaker. Carlos Duarte, Houston- Eldridge provided the engineering services.

Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center

Lafayette, LA

Lafayette, Louisiana

In Lafayette, LA, construction has started on Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. The joint venture of The Lemoine Co. of Lafayette, Louisiana and Brasfield & Gorrie of Birmingham, Alabama is fast-tracked and crews have already installed site utilities, entrances, roads and parking areas.

The 396,000 sq ft. medical center is being constructed with structural steel.  MevaLite is being used on the concrete portions of the project.

Pat Sompol, from our Baton Rouge office, did the engineering for the job. CRP accessories used on the job include waterproofing, vapor barrier, Kurez DR, waterstop and Shep 1107 Premium Grout.

Rena Sanders and Steve Wilson have both worked closely with Lemoine Co. to keep the target completion date of summer 2011 on schedule and within budget.

Houston YMCA is Underway!

Houston, Texas

Construction is under way for a new downtown Houston YMCA facility. Tellepsen is serving as the general contractor, Kirksey was selected as the architect and Haynes Waley is providing structural engineering services for the project.

Jesse Sandoval, supplied Tellepsen with the vapor barrier and steel-ply forming material for the parking garage, hi chairs for the columns along with several other construction products.

The new facility is a block away from the current downtown YMCA location and will be the second largest operating YMCA of the Greater Houston area. The 120,000 square foot facility is scheduled for completion in 2010 and includes additional exercise rooms, a chapel, a women’s wellness center, a daycare and many more features.

The facility is incorporating green building practices and is pursuing LEED® certification. Shep 309 Rez All, Shep Select Self-Leveling and Shep Farm Fresh are being used on the job helping contribute to LEED points.
