University of Houston Design Build Program

Houston, Texas

Each year the Graduate Design/Build Studio at the University of Houston conceptualizes and builds a project for a local Houston non-profit organization. This summer the graduate students constructed an outdoor amphitheater for T.H. Rogers School.

CMC Construction Services has donated products to the project for more than five years. This year, Branch Manager, Terry Cook (51) agreed to donate the rebar, formwork, ties and other accessories for this project.

Jessica Williams (51) detailed the project and David Moland (51) assisted in the formwork solutions.

Jessica said about the project:

“I believe it is a good opportunity for students who will soon be professionals to get the personal experience of a construction project of this magnitude.  It’s also a positive way for CMC Construction Services to give back to the community.”
