East Coast Square Medical Facility

Morehead, North Carolina

In July, Citadel Contractors began work on the East Coast Square medical facility in Morehead, North Carolina. Citadel is known in the Carolinas for its intricate architectural tilt-up designs. In the picture above, Citadel was able to use tilt-up panels to construct the columns at the front entrance and also along the top trim work.

Donald Jackson (Branch- 81) and Kyle Weeks (Branch- 82) sold the complete package of tilt-up hardware and concrete accessories on this project. Citadel used our Power Shep Lift inserts and used Meadow Burke engineering for the lifting and bracing design. Foundation and panel fabricated rebar along with all bar supports and accessories were purchased through our facility in Charleston, South Carolina.

Thanks to entire branch in Charleston for their hard work on this project.

Our Conroe and Texas City locations held training earlier in the week for their inside and outside sales. Houston-South held several training sessions on Thursday, November 18th, for customers, inside and outside sales. Hot dogs were provided to all participants  and were prepared by are CMC Grill Crew Drue Michel, Manuel Baltazar and Jorge Dominguez.

Houston VA Hospital Cook-Off

Houston, Texas

Updated: 11/11/2010 Thank you to Barbara Corbett for sending us the information about the Rolling Thunder and allowing us to make corrections to the article.

This year was the 10th Annual Houston VA BBQ Cook-off and the 2nd year that CMC has donated the use of their big generators for the participating cooking teams. The cook-off is hosted by Rolling Thunder Inc., Texas Chapter 2.  To learn more about the Rolling Thunder and what they stand for you can visit their website here.

The Patriot Guard Riders were also present at the cookoff. The PGR is present at most all veteran’s funerals and they have send-offs for the troops, as well as welcome home ceremonies. The American Legion Post #490 is a very large part of the cook-off as well. Last year the cook-off fed over 800 patients at the local VA Hospital.

This year was our first year to join in the festivities and have team enter.  It was truly an amazing experience. They are a great group of people and we are so proud to have been invited.  CMC has a standing invitation after this year to participate in the cook-off and they are very grateful to CMC Construction Services for the use of the generators.

Tulsa Branch Open House

Tulsa, Oklahoma

Our Tulsa branch held an Open House on October 21st for area contractors. Customers were greeted by Dana Todd and Kasey Baumann while the rest of the sales staff introduced customers to key vendors and gave a tour of the branch.  More than 200 contractors and industry affiliates attended the event which featured a barbeque lunch along with vendor demonstrations and giveaways.

The day before the Open House, vendors and CMC employees participated in a successful Sales Blitz across Tulsa. Approximately 100 job leads were generated during the blitz.  Several contractors on the jobsites already knew about CMC Construction Services and said they planned on attending the Open House.

Thanks to Chris Cessac, Charlie Brown, Jim Eisele (Supply Chain), Jimmie Ballard (Tilt-Up Product Mgr) and the entire Branch who helped make this event successful.
