Broward County Children’s Reading Museum

Tilt-Con is constructing a 10,000 ft2 Children’s Reading Center as part of the new 55,000 ft2 Young at Art Museum, http://www.youngatartmuseum.org. The museum will feature five galleries, studios, a theatre, a teen center and green space. The facility will be LEED certified and is aiming to create a national model that will transform art education.

CMC Construction Services engineered the Reading Museum and according to the contractor it “went up without a hitch”. This building is the only tilt-up building that has one side leaning 7 ft. and the second side leaning 4 ft.  Tilt-Con used Shep Power Lift inserts and braces during construction. The superintendent on the job, Tom Vanderpool, was very happy with the results of the Shep Tilt-Up products and the engineering services.

Thanks to Robert Hays (61) and CMC CS engineering team for their hard work on this project.
