Uni-Trade Stadium (Update)

Uni-Trade Stadium, Sugarland, Texas

Laredo, Texas

On May 17th, 2012 at 7:30 PM a new chapter in the town of Laredo, Texas began as the Laredo Lemurs took the field against the Grand Prairie Airhogs in the brand new multi-purpose Uni-Trade Stadium. With a late surge in the 7th inning with back to back hits from Yunesky Sanchez and John Allen the Lemurs were able pull away from the Airhogs and grab a 5 – 1 victory.

It was a close call if the stadium was going to be ready in time as the grass seating, fire alarm, and the dugouts were not yet finished the day before. The stadium’s final touches will be completed in the next few weeks.

CMC furnished rebar, column forms, shoring and perimeter forms.  They are off to a great start and wish the Laredo Lemurs best of luck this season. Thank you Ray Bridges (02) for the ongoing help and information.

Loop 1604 – US 281 Interchange Project

Loop 1604 – US 281 Interchange Project San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio, Texas

Williams Brothers Construction has begun work on the Loop 1604 / US Highway 281 intersection in San Antonio, TX. Currently, drivers must exit one highway, wait at a traffic light and then enter the other highway. Due to the stop and go driving this intersection has one of the highest accident rates in Bexar County. To diminish the number or accidents and keep traffic moving smoothly a four lane direct connector is being built to link the two highways

This has been a cross-selling project between Craig Wallace, CMC Rebar, and Mike Hutzler, CMC Construction Services. CMC Rebar sold the fabricated rebar for the project and CMC Construction Services supplied the complete package of concrete related products.

Thanks to Mike Hutzler for the image and ongoing information with this project.

Customer Appreciation Lunch Northwest Houston Branch

Customer Appreciation Lunch - Houston, Texas

Houston, Texas

On Friday May 4, our Northwest Houston Branch brought out the grill to cook lunch for its valued customers.  As the shoppers drove up they were greeted by the smell of grilled fajitas and homemade guacamole.

Customers grabbed a taco on their way in or out of the branch, but customers had a great time taking a few minutes to talk to the branch employees.  One way to increase foot traffic in your location is to give customers they are not expecting, this lunch idea is one simple way to give customers something unexpected.

Thanks to Julio Ornelas, Rudy Vasquez and all the employees of branch 53 for making this event a success.
