Our success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failures, loyalty, and the persistence of our CMC employees.”

The Small Branch of the Year trophy was awarded to the El Paso location. “This branch has been successful because everyone works together toward the common goal, which to provide the best service to every customer”, says Branch Manager Richard Casao.

Sentry Gateway Business Park

San Antonio, Texas

The Tilt-Up Concrete Association recently held its annual conference where the winners of the 2012 Tilt-Up Award were announced. The Sentry Gateway Business Park in San Antonio, TX received an award in the Office Division category. The 99,000 ft2 building is nearly 50 percent glass-to wall ratio and balances the structural aspect of the walls with an open appearance.

By using tilt-up construction the perimeter of the building was erected in three days which was a major advantage to the project. The building is designed to LEED Gold criteria and is currently in the process of becoming certified.

EE Reed was the General Contractor for the project and Urban Concrete Contractors was the sub-contractor. Rudy Gonzales (03) worked with Urban Concrete on this project to rent the tilt-wall brace package and sold SILCOSEAL 2000F bondbreaker, 10mil Stego wrap, Greenstreak formliner, banak reveal, and e-z chairs.

Thanks to Rudy for the information for this story and his hard work on this project.

Loop 1604 – US 281 Interchange Project

Loop 1604 – US 281 Interchange Project San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio, Texas

Williams Brothers Construction has begun work on the Loop 1604 / US Highway 281 intersection in San Antonio, TX. Currently, drivers must exit one highway, wait at a traffic light and then enter the other highway. Due to the stop and go driving this intersection has one of the highest accident rates in Bexar County. To diminish the number or accidents and keep traffic moving smoothly a four lane direct connector is being built to link the two highways

This has been a cross-selling project between Craig Wallace, CMC Rebar, and Mike Hutzler, CMC Construction Services. CMC Rebar sold the fabricated rebar for the project and CMC Construction Services supplied the complete package of concrete related products.

Thanks to Mike Hutzler for the image and ongoing information with this project.
